Meshginshahr suspension bridge (Persian: پل معلق مشگین شهر , [Meshgīn Shahr]) is the longest bridge in the Middle East and one of the tourist attractions in the northwest of Iran. Meshginshahr is one of the famous cities of Ardabil province, located 295 km away from Tabriz via Ardabil and 168 km away from Tabriz via Ahar. Meshginshahr city is situated on the bank of flowing rivers on the northern slope of the well-known Sabalan mountain and several other mountains.

The idea of ​​constructing a suspension bridge in Meshginshahr was produced thanks to its natural and unique location on a wooded valley. It was inaugurated as the first recreational suspension bridge in Iran in 2015. This bridge is located at a height of 80 meters above the ground. There are a green valley and a river full of water under the bridge. This river is the most prominent habitat of brown trout. The materials and engineering on this structure have global standards with similar cases. The main part of the bridge is wooden which there is glass in some parts of it. By standing on the glassy parts of the bridge, you can have a breathtaking view which adds the excitement of crossing it.

In this area, in addition to visiting and experiencing the excitement of crossing the bridge, you can use other recreational facilities in the area such as zip line, paraglider, hot air balloon riding, horse and camel riding, cycling, four-wheeled motorcycle, and motorcycle riding. Given this bridge is located in Meshginshahr forest park, it is possible to have a picnic and camp there. Besides, you can stay in hotels, guesthouses, or residential suites in this area. This region enjoys several popular tourist attractions such as amusement parks, skating rinks, and artificial waterfalls. 

Meshginshahr is also famous for the hot and mineral springs of Sabalan mountain; Therefore, not only you can visit the Meshginshahr suspension bridge, but also you can take pleasure in hot springs on the way to reach the bridge. Also, visiting the lush and unique pastures of Sabalan and its slopes, the summer and winter pastures and the passages of the nomads, and the famous Ashe-e Doogh of this region should not be missed.

Meshginshahr suspension bridge is open from 9 am to 11 pm. To reach this attraction is enough to get Meshginshahr from Ardabil and then go to Noor Sabalan tourism region (toward the south of the city), near Mirak village.
